Building trust and opportunity in Hispanic communities

La JEFA Consulting helps organizations authentically connect with Hispanic communities while empowering individuals and families through advocacy, resource navigation, and community support.

I didn’t study the community. I grew up in it.

I'm a fourth-generation Mexican American, and I've been married to a Mexican immigrant for more than 33 years. I didn't choose to live at the intersection of two cultures — I was born into it. And I've been navigating it, honoring it, and building bridges across it every single day of my life.

That's not a credential. That's a calling.

La JEFA Consulting was born from something I kept witnessing: well-meaning nonprofits showing up in Hispanic communities with brochures, budgets, and good intentions, but leading with their services rather than their presence, and communities who could feel the difference kept their distance.

Real engagement doesn't start with what you offer. It starts with who you are — and whether you've earned the right to be in the room.

That's what La JEFA does. We earn that room for you. Study the community. I grew up in it.
