Meet the Founder
la fundadora
I didn't study the community. I grew up in it.
I'm Oralia Lorenzana — a fourth-generation Mexican American, an Idaho native, a wife, a mother, a community builder, and the founder of La JEFA Consulting.
For more than 30 years, I have lived at the intersection of two cultures, two languages, and two worlds. I didn't choose that intersection. I was born into it. And somewhere along the way, I realized that living there — fully, unapologetically, bilingually — was not a challenge to manage. It was a gift to give.
"La JEFA no nació Jefa. Se hizo — un día a la vez."
La JEFA wasn't born in a boardroom or a business plan. She was shaped by madrugadas and prayers, by decades of showing up for others before I ever showed up for myself. She was built on faith, forged in community, and called forward by God.
My Story / Mi Historia
I grew up watching my family navigate systems that weren't built with us in mind — systems that spoke a different language, carried different assumptions, and often left our community behind. That experience didn't make me bitter. It made me determined.
Over the course of my career, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of Idaho's most respected organizations — Idaho Power, the Idaho Department of Labor, the Idaho Women's Business Center, and MoFi — doing work that matters: workforce development, entrepreneurship support, financial empowerment, and community impact.
But through it all, I kept seeing the same gap. Well-meaning organizations showing up in Hispanic communities with brochures, budgets, and good intentions — and leading with their services instead of their presence. And communities that could feel the difference kept their distance.
"Real engagement doesn't start with what you offer. It starts with who you are —
and whether you've earned the right to be in the room."
That's what La JEFA does. We earn that room — for you, and for your community.
More Than a Consultant
I am a certified Notary Public. A bilingual communicator. A wedding officiant. A speaker who has stood in front of middle schoolers and CEOs alike and spoken truth in two languages without missing a beat.
I direct the Spread Your Wings · Elevate youth empowerment program hosted at the Idaho Hispanic Community Center — because I believe the next generation of Jefas and Jefes deserves to see themselves reflected in leadership, business, and possibility.
I am married to a Mexican immigrant. I am raising children who proudly carry both cultures. And I am a woman of deep faith who believes that every call, every client, every conversation is an opportunity to serve something larger than myself.
